Bridgeport residents gathered Thursday night to discuss the severe flooding that damaged people’s homes and vehicles last month.
On Sept. 25, Bridgeport received 6 inches of rain which caused the nearby Rooster River to overflow its banks.
One woman said she had more than 5 feet of water in her basement.
The flooding also damaged at least 30 vehicles.
Residents at the meeting say something needs to be done about the flooding from the Rooster River. Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim was at the meeting and says the state may have to come in and fix the problem.
