Connecticut DOT fielding public comments on proposed fare hike, decreased service
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has scheduled a series of public hearings next month on a plan that includes cutting some Metro-North trains and increase fares.
One-way fares could go up between 25 cents to $1 more per ride under the plan.
When it comes to rail service:
  • Decreased Monday to Thursday service on New Haven Line from 239 to 237 trains
  • Decreased Friday service on New Haven Line from 241 to 233 trains
  • Decreased weekday service on New Canaan Branch from 41 to 39 trains
  • Decreased weekday service on Danbury Branch from 28 to 26 trains
There are also proposed changes to CTtransit bus service, including a new bus line with service from Milford to New Haven.
