'The truth matters.' Former Cuomo aide discusses politics to personal matters in revealing News 12 interview

As secretary to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Melissa DeRosa held the state's most powerful nonelected office during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She ultimately stepped down after Cuomo found himself fighting back against sexual harassment allegations.
DeRosa joined News 12's Senior Reporter Tara Rosenblum for a revealing and emotional hourlong interview that touched on all things politics and personal - including her new memoir, "What's Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis."
"I decided I was going to write this book 24 hours after we were out of office. And there's one simple reason why - because the truth matters," she says. "I feel like the public, particularly the people of the state of New York, given the consequences of the pandemic, given the consequences of a government being overturned, have a right to know from the people who lived it exactly what was going on during those two years."
