Police say they have made an arrest in connection to a woman believed to have been fatally shot in the head inside her Wakefield home Wednesday morning, but actually died of blunt force trauma.
Police say they arrested 35-year-old Sheldon Salmon in connection with the death of 32-year-old Sarisse Respass, of 3914 White Plains Road.
Investigators say they found Sarisse unconscious with a wound to her head around 7 a.m. yesterday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Salmon is the boyfriend of the victim, and police say he has been charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police originally reported that Repass had been shot, but a medical examiner later determined she died of blunt force trauma to her head.
Police did not say what the suspect used to strike her.
