A total of 10 artists from the Bridgeport Art Trail will travel to Venice, Italy for a pop-up art show.
Artists will arrive in Italy on Aug. 30 and begin the installation at the Palazzo Pisani Revedin art gallery.
The Bridgeport Art Trail U.S.A an Authentic Narrative will take over a full floor at the art gallery.
"I love being the one in my family that gets to do this stuff, cause my family sacrificed so that my generation could do all these things, this feels like an oath to my grandmother, to my parents, to my aunts, and to all the people who did not do this," said artist and storyteller Iyaba Ibo Mandingo.
The exhibit aims to showcase a different and unique perspective on the community to the rest of the world.
"We have very strong artists here in Bridgeport, and that is important for me, I just feel so happy to have this opportunity to go to Venice," said textile artist Carlos Bautista Biernnay.
The art will be displayed from Sep. 8. to Nov. 3.
