Authorities: 3 arrested in shooting of Paterson teen killed while carrying groceries for grandmother

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office announced three young men have been arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Robert Cuadra in Paterson.
The shooting happened Jan. 19 around 6:30 p.m. at 130 Godwin Ave.
Police found Cuadra lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.
Cuadra was transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The subsequent investigation revealed Jaquin Williams, Kahaz Heron, and Jahed Jones took part in the shooting and were responsible for the murder of Cuadra.
According to authorities, 19-year-olds Williams and Jones, both of Paterson, and 18-year-old Heron, of Clifton, are now in the Passaic County Jail.
All three are charged with murder, among other charges.
Cuadra was an honor student at HARP Academy in Paterson, a school for those looking to focus on a career in health care. He also had a full scholarship waiting for him at Montclair State University.
Cuadra was outside his home helping his grandmother bring in the groceries. The teen was caught in the crossfire and was shot in the head.
