A tow truck driver fell over the edge of an overpass in Hamden after a car hit the vehicle he was towing.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. Friday on the shoulder of Route 15 northbound, south of exit 60.
Police say a tow truck was parked in the right shoulder with its emergency lights on.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving in the right lane when it veered to the right to avoid another car that had slowed down for traffic.
The Jeep then hit a Nissan Altima that was parked behind the tow truck.
The Nissan was pushed onto the truck's flat bed.
While the driver attempted to tow the Nissan, he fell off the edge of the overpass and into a section of grass, 25 feet down onto Circular Avenue. He suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was issued an infraction for failure to maintain proper lane.
