And I used to even say to my mom, I don't feel right. I feel different than everyone else. I don't feel like I belong here. And my mom's like, oh, you're not adopted, you belong to this family. Don't feel that way. Like, because why else would you II I was raised. So I, I'm very blessed the way that I was raised, my parents very open and welcoming to everything. And I know I ever really made a big deal about it. And um you know, now does it run in your family? Yeah. So um we do have uh spiritual abilities. Um But not to the extent of we're all able to connect with our own. We get the signs, the symbols, we might hear things or sense things or feel things. Um But for me, it's just, I guess my soul's journey because of, of where I am with, with what I do. And then once it was almost like I remember when I called up my mom and I'm like, mom, I can, I have this ability to talk to dead people. And my mom was like, oh, great. That explains a lot of things. It was like, it was like, it was like, ok, great. You know, like, it was just like, no one was fazed by it. Nobody was. My dad still gets a little freaked out and you'll see him on the show. Like, even, like, he's like, oh, boy. You know, here we go again. I, I just did something with him the other day about a couple of weeks ago at, at the bakery up here. And he's like, oh, are you doing your thing now? My thing. Yeah, I'm doing my thing, dad. Like it's, but it's just, it's so natural to everyone, you know, and like, you know, like no one ever really made a big deal about it. So I was able to really kind of navigate my gift on my own um on, on my own time. And then I had someone that had helped me with my gift to understand it what was really happening. And the more I channeled, the more complete I felt and, and a lot of people don't also know this about me. I was struggling with my gift for many, many years. And then 9 11 happened and that was the turning point for me where I put my gift in God's hands. And I said, if this is my soul's journey to do this work, then I wanna be able to help people. I wanna be able to give people faith and peace and comfort, to be able to move on here in the physical world, even though their loved one died. And here I am over 20 years later because you, you couldn't make sense of it during that time. Like, how did this happen? I, I went through all the what? Why me? II I can't do this. Who's gonna wanna come and see a medium? Like that was my biggest thing. That's what I was going through at that time. I was like, why would someone want to come and see a medium and speak to their loved one that had died? I couldn't understand that. And then after 9 11, I had a spiritual experience where I was shown and told that thousands of people passed away and nobody knew what happened to their loved one, right? You think about, did they suffer? Did they know what was happening? They were gonna be saved? Did they, was it painful? You know, you just don't know if you didn't even, you know, get them physically back and what that's like, that was a big thing. And then, and then who would have thought 20 years later to kind of go through that again with COVID? People didn't know what their loved ones went through. What happened? Were they afraid? Were they alone? And, you know, it's amazing on how spirit really delicately has me deliver these messages. You know, I mean, they just show me things and I think that's what I've kind of understood is how to deliver these messages. And I think that's the tough part because no matter who I read, you know, a loss is a loss. You know, at the end of the day, parents shouldn't lose Children. But every reading that I do is hard. Every reading stays with me. Um, I pray for the souls that have passed for their families. It's, but is it, is it nice? I don't know that nice is the right word. But to give people comfort, to give them, you know, if you will closure so that, you know, obviously it's, it's grief and it's heavy and it's hard, but it's also beautiful. It is because I could just feel in this moment. And I always say this, you know, spirit brings us on this emotional roller coaster. They bring us through, we feel all the pain, the sorrow, the loss, and the grief and then just like your friend just did and then had me say things and do things to bring a smile to your face and even laughter, right? To me, that's the greatest gift. And I consider the work that I do in honor and a privilege. And the fact that people trust me with the souls of their loved ones means the absolute world to me, to trust me, to be able to allow their loved ones to give them that gift. Because I would say I'm just a vessel, your loved ones did this, right? You know, and I'm just, I've just come to terms with it. I just say whatever it is that I feel and they're always healing.

Thanks for joining us here on mornings on news 12 on a Friday, December 1st. I'm m mad and I'm Simon Choudry. So we've been talking about the rain. Will it affect our weekend plans? Let's check in with storm watch team. Meteorologist, Alex Calam. Not a bad start to December temperature wise though. Now it's true. It is cold out there this morning in the mid twenties for North Jersey, interior parts of the state only in the twenties, but we are all warming up very quickly. I want to take you to one of the cooler spots. Somerset County is sitting in the mid twenties right now. At Best Rocky Hill is 30. So you definitely need to jack it early but you don't get by mid morning, at least not the heavy jacket. You're sitting in the mid forties. The wind is very calm today but clouds are building and we have a chance for rain. It is after all the first day of December and on average temperatures are right around 49. So this is just about right for this time of the year. But by the end of the month, we go down to 41 for your average morning temperature on average by the end of the month, 28. And yeah, December typically is when we see our first snow of the season last year though. We didn't see our first inch of snow until February this weekend. We're just talking plain old rain and there could be plenty of it on Sunday. Saturday looks dry and cloudy and mild coming up. We'll show you what those numbers look like. Alex. What's going on inside there, who need to know? All right, but what's going on in the weather department? We have rain. I mean, there, office parties tonight, right? So you will want the umbrellas heading out and about for evening plans. Best chance is going to be during the evening commute between three and eight. You can see pretty much how a lot of us start to see the rain after three or four. Best chance is going to be around six or seven. So you'll have to tap those windshield wipers a little bit, but it quickly ramps off by eight or nine o'clock. We're more or less dry and the rest of the evening looks fine. It just got to have the umbrellas for the early part of the evening, but it's not the only time we're going to see rain this weekend. A little bit of a break expected tomorrow and honestly go outside. Enjoy 60 degrees because we might not see 60 degrees any more in 2023. That's right because of course, things are going to be cooling on down. Enjoy tomorrow because it'll start to rain again on Sunday. It'll also be quite a bit cooler, only lower fifties. So let's take a look at that future cast for Sunday starts off dry. So heading over to let's say church in the morning, you're fine. But by about 11 a.m. we will see a couple of showers moving on in. So by brunch time, you will want to move those brunch and lunch plans inside, it'll become a little bit of a heavier rain into the afternoon. Notice some of the oranges right there over park slope as well as Gowanus down towards Bath Beach. We are going to see quite a bit of rain for the afternoon hours. It's a quick hit though by seven or eight to on Sunday evening, we're pretty much clearing out of the rain and then into Monday morning, maybe a lingering shower is expected. So let's take a look at that 10 day forecast. What you're going to see is again a little bit of a temperature roller coaster up to 60 tomorrow. Then we have that yellow highlight. That means rain is looking likely and it could be a little bit more significant. A little bit left over Monday. Then it gets a lot colder. Take a look by middle of next week. We're looking at middle twenties.

Rain drops today. Meteorologist Matt Hammer filling us in on that forecast. Yeah, just a couple of light showers really around after one o'clock this afternoon through about six or seven this evening. So that's where we start off with on the futurecast. Really nice morning this morning, chilly temperatures will get up into the upper forties to near 50 though into the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies by late morning and early afternoon today. So the spotty light areas of green arrive after one o'clock this afternoon, steadier rain will be missing us to the north and west. But you will have the need the at times during the afternoon and early evening with just these occasional light spotty showers. The best chance for Westchester and Rockland to see these showers is actually after four o'clock and through about six o'clock or so this evening, then after seven this evening, completely dry, mostly cloudy. There just can be a little bit of some fog development overnight into early tomorrow. I do expect to see some breaks of sunshine tomorrow, but clouds certainly should win out throughout the day. Highs will jump well into the fifties briefly into the early afternoon. And I just want to extend this out into Sunday because there are some changes for Sunday, not necessarily looking at flooding or anything like that just yet. But after a dry, early morning on Sunday, we will likely have a round of steadier rain moving in for the afternoon and for the evening hours on Sunday, drying out in time for the morning commute on Monday. So we just want to keep an eye on that for you as we go throughout the weekend today. Kind of an eye roll day. It starts off great, but it ends up being a little bit unsettled with a few of those spotty afternoon and early evening rain showers before just drier, mostly cloudy conditions kind of remain for the overnight with some patchy fog. So just pay attention to visibility overnight, you might have to slow down a little bit into very early tomorrow morning for some areas of scattered fog highs tomorrow. Well into the fifties, a stray Sprinkle possible in the afternoon and evening. But most of the day, dry clouds and little hints of sunshine. Tomorrow is easily the better half of the weekend before that chance at steadier afternoon, evening rain on Sunday, most of next week looks dry at this point, but turning colder by Tuesday with highs in the lower forties, it looks like we'll stay in the forties from Tuesday and through next weekend just could be some more wet weather by next Friday.

Talking about what this first weekend of December technically, well, not technically winter but kind of winter is going to be like rich. Yes, in the weather world it is the beginning of winter. Meteorological winter starts today and we're going to be warming things up. Today will be the warmest day of the week for our Monday through Friday time frame. Now starting off this morning, still that bit of a chill, but we have dry weather conditions you can see right now. 30 seven Hempstead, 37 in Valley Stream, 40 in Medford, 45 Bridge Hampton already 49 degrees in Montauk. You're gonna notice a different feel to the air for today. Starting off with sunshine and clouds during our midday. If you're gonna be around Jericho, today, temperatures will be in the lower fifties and then towards 567 o'clock, here comes some of that wet weather. So if you have the evening plans be prepared for some scattered showers is developing and it was uh temperatures again, they're cold right now and you can see the wet weather developing out to the west. This is approaching Long Island morning sunshine, then the clouds and the rain showers developing between about five and 7 p.m. And again, as we go through this evening, here's some of that wet weather. Around eight o'clock tonight, the showers are coming on through and that will be with us through about 10 p.m. And then right now your Saturday is more dry track rain for your Sunday. Again, highs today in the fifties morning, sunshine, afternoon clouds showers after four pm, sun goes down. Now at 425 lows are in the forties, showers through midnight and then some drizzle and fog through Saturday morning, mainly dry Saturday rain on Sunday, especially in the afternoon, drier weather coming in as we go towards next week. And right now Hanukkah, the start of that looks dry with temperatures in the forties.

Just Alan knows if we got some rain headed our way for this first day of December. Yeah, not a lot, but enough that it's going to cause a little bit of an inconvenience there for the evening commute. Take a look at the exact timing here, hour by hour. You're going to notice that the odds go up after three o'clock. So for that evening commute, 456, you're going to see some of these showers could be that little bit of a steadier burst here 6 to 7 p.m. and then it tails off by nine o'clock. We're pretty much done with the rain. That's good. But then for the weekend, maybe not the best looking weekend, but salvaging Saturday, Saturday, how about 60? I'm pushing up the high because I have a feeling we're going to get a couple of peaks of sunshine and that's going to allow the temperatures to soar enjoy tomorrow outside while you can because the rain returns on Sunday, it will also be cooler. It'll be a little bit on the dreary side. So let's take a look at that Sunday future cast because Saturday, I don't have much to show you because it's going to be dry. It's going to be a mix of sun and clouds for Sunday. However sure it starts off dry at about 7 a.m. But we're going to notice showers moving in from the south and west by the afternoon. Here we go by 11 a.m. Brunch plans move them inside because there will already be showers. This looks to be a little bit steadier of a rain compared to today's rain. Notice already some of the yellows on the feature cast around two o'clock. Then later on into the afternoon, even some orange, around 4 to 5 o'clock, there's a pocket of moderate to maybe heavy rain. That's possible that's going to move quickly through. So by the evening hours things start tapering off and Monday morning, we might have a lingering shower or two. But aside from that, we're pretty much smooth sailing, aside from today's showers and Sunday showers, I have that yellow highlight just so that, you know, that Sunday looks to be a little bit messy, messy Sunday, but Saturday is beautiful. Ok. I guess we got to take what we can get, salvage a little bit of the, it's better than the teens.

And if you are gonna be on the roads this weekend, you're probably gonna be dealing with some wet weather big time. So if you're doing some traveling and then on the way back for that Sunday night, Sunday night commute could be a little bit of a doozy. But listen, enjoy Saturday. Saturday looks good. It's gonna be nice. It's gonna be mild. Temperatures are gonna be in the mid FF grant it, we're gonna work with a little more cloud cover than we will sunshine for your Saturday. I like it. I think you're gonna like it too. Certainly. When you think of Sunday's forecast right where we are gonna see some steady rain into the mix, 50 degrees. What we're looking at for today again, temperatures finally on the other side of average, we've kind of had a bit of a chilly week. Certainly. If you think back to midweek it was bitter bite with that cold air. Let's fast forward into our afternoon. We're gonna see those numbers into the mid to upper forties. We're gonna work with a few showers up north at first and then as we head to the commute home, 567 o'clock. We're dealing with some steady rain in the mix, but look what happens by around 910. We're drying out nicely while we could see some patchy fog develop for the early parts of your Saturday morning. Not all too bad numbers into the upper thirties, lower forties. Remember we're staying dry. We may see some pokes of sunshine, but just a reminder, it's gonna be mainly gray as we work our way through our Saturday. But look at some of these numbers 54 for Redding Newtown, 51 for Weston, 48 for Bridgeport. Even up north Torrington, Cornwall, Goshen, Washington Litchfield, we'll all see numbers into the lower fifties transition into Sunday. Sunday is not all too bad of a start gray. A lot of cloud cover, but numbers are into the forties. Not quite of a chilly start. If you maybe just walking the dog for the early part of Sunday morning, late morning into the afternoon, we're gonna see some steady rain pull in. It's a little bit different than a little bit of rain we'll get into for later on today, Sunday. We're work working with some heavy rain and some steady showers. Certainly as we push forward into the afternoon and evening. So again, that commute home, maybe from this weekend, heading into your Sunday night, it's gonna be a little bit of a doze. We do find those showers to kind of taper off by the time we head into our overnight to work into Monday as far as rainfall totals 1/10 to a quarter of an inch for your Friday later on today, nothing for Saturday. And then we're gonna add about another inch to the mix by the time we finish up our Sunday and again, working our way into our Monday, still holding on to mild temperatures in the lower fifties mark.

Well, thank you. I am so excited to finally meet you. I've watched you for years on TV. Same, same. I can't believe we've never met each other. That's so great, but it is so great and the fact that we decided to coordinate, I mean, it's kind of strange because I wasn't going to wear this dress. You aren't going to wear that one. And then Theresa came down, talk to me about what this summer has been like and, and doing this tour. Oh my God. It's been crazy. I mean, my life for the past 10 years has been insane, but now it's completely insane uh, to have this new, um, opportunity of still touring being a grandma. It's just been, it's just been non stop. It's a whirlwind. But you know what? I love it. And I love what I do so to be able to still be delivering messages of faith, hope and peace to people all over the country and all over the world is such an honor and a privilege. Do you think being a grandma has changed you? No, I, I think I'm a little bit more softer but, you know, like when it comes to Children, you know, the fact that I'm a grandma, I still can't believe it, you know. Um, but I think it just has made me honestly, uh becoming a grandma has just kind of made me really stop and smell the roses if you might use that sense to really just slow down because I don't want to miss those moments. And your, and your son got married, married in Italy. That gorgeous, insane. Absolutely magical and beautiful. I can't believe they're, they're married after 14 years of being together and on your birthday, on my birthday. Yeah. And now what is it like when you, when you're out on the road and you're not able to see your granddaughter all the time and kids? What's that like? Is it tough? Well, this is the thing that I love about, um, technology is that face time. It's so great. So I facetime. So if she wants to. So you really, I really feel like I'm there. You know, it's, it's a hard thing. I, for someone who never could leave their home, I had such anxiety to be able to leave for weeks on end and to be away from my family. Um I just, I can't imagine my life being anything else. And now you go and you do these shows but they're really experiences. So it's not like I go see your show and then I go like a comedian or something and then I go see it again and I know the punch line, each one is completely different. And, and the reason for that is um I, the reason why I call it, the experience is because that's what it is. Even if you don't personally get read, you walk away with something and how and why these shows are so unique is I have the souls of the departed channel with their personality. So everyone's personality is different. I have them communicate with, with laughter because laughter is the best medicine for the soul. So sometimes the messages or it might be a common healing message. But the things that follow that are completely different and that's why every reading that I do is insane and different. I'm not on the stage. So I'm literally, I am in the audience walking around and just randomly stopping at someone and start channeling their loved ones. But the amazing thing that I've watched and seen doing these live shows for over 10 years is how people come together and people are truly happy for the person that did get read because people say it all the time. They'll say I had no idea what to expect. When I went to the show, I personally did not get read. But what I witnessed was life changing and then they'll say, and then I realized that the people that got read, they needed it more than I did. Right. So, and to watch perfect strangers, like, console each other, hug and, and show their since sincerity to have this bond because you went through this experience together. Yeah. It's, it's very, very emotion, emotional. Um, and I never know what I'm gonna walk into. Never. Now, what about when you do the hometown shows you've been traveling, you know, around the country? What is it like when you come home and go to a space like the Paramount? Oh God. Well, I don't have to repeat myself because of my accent. Everyone understands what I'm saying. Like sometimes they're looking, they're like, what did she say? And they're like, oh, she said water, the water, you know. Yes. Yes, that is true. But you know what? It's just, I, I can't explain it. Um, it's just to be home on Long Island and to be able to end my year every year at the Paramount, it's just, it's special, you know. Right. Because then you're seeing your family around the holidays. Your shows are in December. Right. Correct. Yeah. So, well, that, that's one thing, no matter where I am traveling all over, we're always home for the holidays because family is, is so important. And so having those family traditions are very, very important. So, I, I instill that, you know, I love that. Now, you have a new show and this one is different. Talk to me about, you know, for someone who's a fan of yours, what can they expect? Well, I'm just gonna say, finally we're back because if I run into one more person, like, why are you on TV? When are you coming back? So, um I'll be on Lifetime and the show is called Teresa Caputo Raising Spirits. And it's different because I feel that it is more intimate. I feel on the shows that I've done in the past. It's always, it's always been real, it's always been my life and what I'm doing. But this is more like behind the scenes, you get to see a lot more of my crew of just me just with my family interacting on just a, a real, I, I don't know how to explain it real more behind the scenes. So it's a little bit more intimate. Um You know, I'm still doing readings, still surprising people with readings uh out and about in my day. But you, I just feel like more intimate. And now how does that work? Because I heard you went to the same place where I happen to play pickle ball, you know, with my girl. Now, how do you get through a game. If all of a sudden, you know, Spirit wants to let you know to tell someone something. Do you just, like, pause the game or what do you do? I do, I do, I feel like this would be a really a fun time to play. Excuse me? I'm sorry, I do. II, I really, I really did. It, it's hard but I already know, um, this, the, when to say something to someone. So like I'm constantly feeling something. So um I can tell you right now that there is a young male that is present that wants to speak, but he has to follow my rules. Like he has to give me more things. So he's trying to bring me through the departure. So he's right now, he's bringing me through the departure. So I'm having a little bit of difficulty breathing. So it means that he passed with something in the chest or there was something with his breathing and he keeps snapping his fingers at me, which means that his passing was sudden and or unexpected or even if somebody was ill, we weren't expecting to pass, they were not expecting to depart at that time. Is that correct? That is correct. And I don't know the relationship to you because spirit also makes me feel the bond of relationship. But I felt like I don't, I I wanna say like he was like a brother, he was like a friend. So I don't know how that relationship was with him. Does that make sense? Yes. And then he just said to me he goes, we've been through a lot of shenanigans together. Her and I, and I don't know if he had a nickname for you. Um, but because he, he didn't refer to you as Elizabeth. So when they, when they kind of shorten a name or they just show me someone's first initial, that's just my symbol for that. He had like uh a nickname for you or like something how you guys would interact with kid around? What? Oh my. Did you just get like a goose or a chill? I just asked him to move his soul through you to validate his presence and he says she can you, he, he's funny. He goes, listen, he goes, she just keeps worrying about me. Tell her I'm fine. I'm at peace. Just tell her I'm ok and I am resting easy, my dear girl. You know how much that means to me? 00 my gosh. That was emotional. I wanna see more of that.
