A state representative from Bethel has been arrested and charged with shoplifting from a Target store.
Raghib Allie Brennan was arrested Monday night after failing to pay for two items at the self-checkout.
In a Facebook post, Brennan said "two items in my armload of others were not scanned. I was in a rush to bring items to my grandmother in the hospital, the store didn't have bags, and I was juggling multiple purchases."
He added that he takes full responsibility and is working through the legal process to resolve the matter.
