A Bridgeport couple celebrated 68 years of marriage Monday by getting a COVID-19 vaccine at the nursing home where they live.
Myrta Ziegler, 90, and Martin Ziegler, 90, are residents at The Jewish Home in Bridgeport. Walgreens administered the COVID-19 vaccine to nearly all 300 residents at the home.
Myrta says the vaccine wasn't bad.

Daughter Debbie Ziegler says her parents have lived in Bridgeport for the past 25 years and the last five at The Jewish Home. There was no other gift she wanted for her parents as they marked this milestone.
"Their family, all of us are so happy for them to celebrate in this special way," says Andrew Banoff, the president & CEO of Jewish Senior Services. "Who would've ever thought a vaccine is a way to celebrate an anniversary, but that's exactly what they're doing."
The Zieglers hope this brings them one step closer to celebrating their anniversary with their loved ones next year.
