A Bridgeport dad of two girls hurt in a car crash last month told News 12 Connecticut it is a miracle they were not killed or seriously injured.
Robinson Cruz and his young daughters were outside of their apartment on Central Avenue on Aug. 27 when a car veered out of control and crashed onto the sidewalk, hitting a parked pickup truck.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 Connecticut shows a person with a grill between two parked cars and kids on the sidewalk. In the video, a car slams right into the parked truck and hits another parked car.
A total of six people were hurt, including Cruz’s two young daughters. One of his daughters is now left with a scar on her face.
The driver was later arrested and faces multiple charges, including DUI.
"I don't understand how a person in that condition could ever get behind the wheel of a car,” Cruz says.
He adds that the crash was like something out of a movie.
