The city of Bridgeport has debuted its new fire truck.
Mayor Joe Ganim joined Fire Chief Richard Thode Wednesday to unveil Ladder 10, a new truck that will serve Station 10 on the city's East End.
The truck is more compact, making it easier to setup between parked cars on tight streets.
“The other thing I'm very proud of with this truck is the work that the firefighters in this station did,” says Thide. “You have to remember with firefighters, the truck is their office, not the fire station. Every single tool from the smallest screwdriver to the biggest aerial ladder is carried on the truck so everything we do, we have to bring with us.”
The truck's aerial ladder is 107 feet tall and can reach full height in 90 seconds.
