Bridgeport good Samaritan rescues senior after fire rips through North End home

A Bridgeport man is being hailed as a hero for rushing to the rescue of a senior citizen whose home was destroyed by fire.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 500 block of Soundview Avenue.
Witnesses said a female got safely out of the house, but a male senior remained inside.
Neighbors said, Joshua Burgos, who was visiting his mom across the street, rushed into the burning house and rescued the older resident.
"The little kid inside of me just figured to jump inside and help. So, I know that sounds like a cliché to say that, but I just wanted to be a helpful citizen," said Burgos.
Officials say the cause of that fire remains under investigation.
