Looking to stay cool, but keep fit at the same time? Try ice skating, says workers at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport.
The workers say it’s a great way to get a workout in without the risk of dehydration that people who exercise outdoors face.
"The risk of dehydration is a lot higher and you can get to a point where you can't come back from it," said Jayme Clark, of Hartford HealthCare Fairfield Primary Care.
“Eleven laps around a full size rink like this is equal to a mile. You can come here for an hour and you can skate a marathon,” said Lisa Fedick, general manager of Wonderland of Ice.
Experts say people with long haul COVID symptoms can be more vulnerable to the heat.
