A Bridgeport youth group went to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey on Saturday thanks to Summerfield United Methodist Church's program called "Youth With A Purpose".
Organizers said the kids got to meet with a representative from the Federal Reserve, and with experts from the tech field.
"We are very excited today to be able to do this and to give back to the community that we all love," said Rev. Dr. Herron K. Gaston, of the Summerfield United Methodist Church.
"This is an amazing program. It gives the community a chance for all the community to come together in one place. We learn a lot, we learn different things, we grow and evolve here, so I love it," said Kareem Williams, of Youth With A Purpose.
About 34 kids went on the trip along with a group of parents.
