A Bridgeport man is being held on $1 million bond, charged with murdering his 5-year-old daughter.

Police say 33-year-old Miguel Roldan confessed to beating his daughter in a fit of anger Friday. First responders found the little girl unconscious in her home with what appeared to be blunt force trauma to the chest. She was rushed to St. Vincent?s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities say two other children, a 7-year-old boy and his 3-month-old brother, were also home at the time, but were unharmed. They are now in custody of the Department of Children and Family Services pending an investigation.

Neighbors say the family had recently moved to the community and kept to itself. They say they are shocked something like a murder could happen in their quiet neighborhood.
