A man was struck by a car following an argument with another motorist, police say.

A man was struck by a car following an argument with another motorist, police say.
The incident happened Saturday in front of the Merritt Canteen in Bridgeport around 11:30 p.m.
Police say the incident began when two men got into an accident near the entrance of the restaurant.
Witnesses told police that the two men got out of their cars and got into a fight in the road when one of the men fell to the ground.
Police say a station wagon driving by didn't see the man in the road and hit him.
He was taken to the hospital with several life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition.
Police say the driver who hit him stayed on scene, but that the man who he was fighting with took off in a black-colored car.
The driver that left the scene was last seen headed north on Main Street.
