Bond was set today at $1 million for a Bridgeport man accused of fatally beating his girlfriend last September.
Wilson Cash, 43, barely reacted as his bond was set. Cash is accused of killing Christine Jeffreys last September in an apartment on Madison Avenue. Police say he immediately fled the state and was arrested in Port Chester, N.Y. earlier this year. Cash had tried to fight extradition from New York prior to the court appearance. The victim's family members say they doubt Cash would have left Connecticut if he wasn't guilty. Prosecutors read Cash's criminal record, which indicated that he had just finished a 15-year prison sentence for manslaughter.
