A Bridgeport nonprofit brought together kids from different neighborhoods through sports on Saturday.
Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse hosted the free event at Harding High School.
Organizers said more than 450 kids came together for the group's Middle School Sports League, which featured flag football, track and field and kickball.
"Hundreds of kids are out here having a great time today learning team building, mentoring, leadership," said Don Wilson, of Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse.
"A big thank you to Don Wilson and his group for putting all this together and we look forward to many more Saturdays down here at Harding High School," said Bridgeport Schools Superintendent Mike Testani.
Organizers said the most important lesson of the day was how to have a healthy competition while leaving the rivalry on the field afterwards.
