A black Bridgeport pastor who went to Charlottesville, Virginia, and saw the violent rally there firsthand says it is a reminder that racism still exists in the United States.

Pastor Anthony Bennett, of Mount Aery Baptist Church, says he took videos of the protest and saw busloads of neo-Nazis and white nationalist groups marching. He says he was disgusted but not afraid.

"I think America struggles with it," Bennett says.

Bennett says reading history and connecting the past to present-day policy change are two ways that the country can address the problem.

He also calls President Donald Trump's deflection of the issue insulting.
