Bridgeport police say the man responsible for a machete attack last month is now in custody.

Officers arrested Jilmer Valverde, 20, on Monday morning.

Police say Valverde attacked another man with the machete at the Diamond 10 baseball field in Seaside Park.

The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the assault.
