Officials in Bridgeport are making final preparations for President Bush?s arrival Wednesday.
More than 130 business leaders are expected at Playhouse on the Green to take part in the president?s panel discussion on health care. Officials say the Secret Service has been scoping out the area for about a week, and many popular lunch spots will be closed for several hours during the visit. Still, many merchants say it?s an honor to have the president in Bridgeport.
Town officials are expecting protesters to turn out in large numbers, with at least 100 activists protesting Bush?s health care policy. Many more are expected to be on hand protesting the war in Iraq.
