13 people, including 10 children, hospitalized following school bus crash in Bridgeport

Bridgeport city officials tell News 12 that 13 people, including 10 children, were hospitalized after a school bus crashed into a car just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
Exclusive surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows the bus attempting to turn left off of Arctic Street on to East Main Street, and hitting a car going straight on Arctic.
"The first thought is the kids...not even the grown people, the first thing that comes to mind is the kids," said Kania Cabrera, who works up the block, and ran out after seeing the sirens.
In the video, some witnesses on the sidewalk were visibly rattled; at least one person is heard yelling to call 911.
Police cars, a fire truck and ambulance all arrived on the scene quickly, with Tiffany Lowe, who also saw the aftermath, saying officers were carrying kids off the bus.
"I just saw them crying, and the cops holding them," Lowe said. "They were really shooken up, and I was, too."
City officials say besides the eight children, there were two adults on the bus who were taken to the hospital as well.
Even after the scene was cleaned up, broken pieces of plastic and were left behind on the road.
"The front of the little small car, it was crushed," said Cabrera.
Another neighbor, who asked not to be shown on camera, said she saw officers pulling someone out of the passengers' side seat.
"He was laying on the corner there, his pants was off, but I think that's from pulling him," she said.
News 12 is told that two children and one adult from the car were hospitalized.
So far, officials have not provided any information on the condition of the 13 people, or any other information about what led to the crash.
The traffic lights are not visible in the surveillance video to know if the car and bus were trying to beat a yellow, but there is no turning arrow at the intersection that would have given the bus the right of way.
News 12 reached out to We Transport, the company which appeared to be operating the bus, and so far, has not heard back.
