Bridgeport teen has died after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a scooter last Wednesday.
AJ DeJesus, 18, was one of two people riding a scooter on Kossuth Street and Berkshire Avenue when police say the pair was struck by the vehicle and dragged for blocks.
In a GoFundMe fundraiser, DeJesus' aunt says her nephew fought hard, "but unfortunately, his body couldn't handle the trauma."
Last week, Raymond Soler told News 12 Connecticut that his little brother was fighting for his life at Bridgeport Hospital.
This incident was part of a string of serious scooter accidents across the city over the past six weeks. It began with a fatal crash on Sylvan Avenue May 30, when a scooter collided with a car at the intersection of Balsam Avenue.
On June 17, police say two people were hospitalized following yet another crash at Housatonic Avenue and East Washington Avenue.
