Bridgeport teen joins traveling step team, inspires audiences with messages of hope

The New Creation Step Team is welcoming 15-year-old Charlie de los Santos, of Bridgeport, who is wowing people of all ages with his resilience, optimism and good humor.

A traveling step team is introducing a new member to their group to help inspire others and combat the stigma that comes with having mental health issues. 
The New Creation Step Team is welcoming 15-year-old Charlie de los Santos, of Bridgeport, who is wowing people of all ages with his resilience, optimism and good humor. 
De los Santos is a wheelchair-bound teen who has struggled with severe depression in the past.
He is now a motivational speaker and rapper.
Leader of the team Karie Jackson told New 12 the addition of de los Santos shows audience members that young people can overcome any obstacle with hard work and the right attitude.
