Bronx KIPP Academy alum gives back to his community for the next generation
A Bronx man is now giving back to the school he attended by helping to build something for its next generation of students.

9ds agoA Bronx man is now giving back to the school he attended by helping to build something for its next generation of students.
The construction is to become a new facility for KIPP Charter Schools. For one member of the team putting it together, the project is more than just another job.
Joshua Ojo attended the KIPP Academy Middle School and is now working as an engineer at Suffolk Construction. When he heard that his company had an opportunity to work on a new facility for the KIPP schools, he knew he had to be a part of the project.
Ojo showed News 12 the new facility, which will be located at 2720 Jerome Ave. He says the site will serve as a K-8 charter school and will be around 90,000 square feet with six floors. Besides his role as project engineer, he says the best part about working on this is being able to give back to the community he grew up in.
The project is expected to be completed around June of next year and will be ready to welcome around 1,000 charter school students.
