Bronx residents get early start of July 4 celebrations at Soundview Park

Bronx residents got an early start to Fourth of July celebrations on Sunday at Soundview Park.
People fired up their barbecue grills, set up picnics areas and got together with family relatives and friends during the sunny day.
One family said they travelled from Manhattan to the Bronx because the parks in the borough allow grilling.
For others, they said they headed to Soundview Park to avoid the big crowds on Monday as the park is known to get crowded during Independence Day.
For those who are looking for a cool place to spend their day, New York City public pools will be open Monday during their regular hours. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those who won't be able to make it to the famous Macy's Fourth of July fireworks on Monday night have chance to catch some smaller fireworks in Soundview right around sunset.
