The Brookfield Police Department has announced that Eversource intentionally cut power to some houses on the north side of town to keep firefighters safe at the scene of an overnight fire.

The power outage was a precautionary measure taken to ensure the safety of firefighters responding to a fire on Chickadee Lane. Officials have not provided details about the fire yet.

According to the police department, the power should be back on by now. Residents who were affected by the outage can expect their electricity to be restored.
