The town of Yorktown is trying to put an end to bullying by naming a new junior supervisor.
Riley, who has Down syndrome, was appointed to the position for the month of July. Officials say Riley was harassed by other kids at the new adaptive playground at Granite Knolls Park.
The Town Board has asked the Parks Department to hang anti-bullying banners at the playground and other parks.
Riley got a certificate making his new role official. He also got a municipal pin, a flag and a Batman toy.
