Five people are dead, including an 8-year-old girl, after their car crossed into oncoming traffic on the Bronx River Parkway Sunday.
Police say an Acura carrying seven family members was traveling southbound when it crossed the median and hit three other vehicles. The five victims, four of whom died at the scene, were in that Acura. Police say the car?s two other passengers are in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center. Six people traveling in the three cars that the Acura hit suffered minor injuries.
The accident, which happened about 2:30 p.m. between exits 5 and 6, tied up traffic for hours.
