8ds agoThe Catholic Academy of Stamford is preparing to reopen next week for full-time in-person learning for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
Next week, the academy will reopen and students will have to adhere to new COVID safety protocols.
All students will have their temperatures taken at the start of each school day. Education officials say any child with a fever will be sent home.
Once a child is approved to enter the school, they will use an individual door to their classroom instead of the main entrance.
Many changes have been made inside of the school.
The Pre-K 4 classroom no longer has carpet and the tables were also removed.
Students will use individual 12x12 desks instead of tables.
Students will also have their own boxes for school supplies and more, and are not allowed to share any items with other classmates.
Of the 250 students, officials say a handful have chosen to learn from home.
If a student tests positive for COVID the student and their cohort will have to quarantine for 14 days.
