Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is teaming up with the Diocese of Bridgeport to distribute thousands of at-home COVID tests.
Catholic
Charities of Fairfield County received a shipment of 20,000 at-home test kits from
the state. Officials say 10,000 test kits were delivered last week and another
10,000 kits were delivered Thursday.
The kits are being split between Catholic
Charities and the Diocese of Bridgeport.
Catholic Charities is handing out tests through
its various programs, including at its soup kitchens and food pantries.
The
Diocese of Bridgeport is giving test kits to its parishes, with a significant
amount of tests going to inner-city churches.
Those in need of a test are asked to contact their parish or one of the
Catholic Charities programs only if they have had a COVID-19 exposure or are showing symptoms.
