CDC rolls back guidance on disinfectant use except in recent COVID-19 cases

The agency has issued new guidelines that say using soap or detergent regularly will keep surfaces clean.

The U.S. saw an incredible surge in the demand for disinfectant use during the pandemic, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says they're not really needed anymore.
The agency has issued new guidelines that say using soap or detergent regularly will keep surfaces clean.

However, it still recommends disinfection where there has been a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The CDC continued to suggest proper hand-washing and mask-wearing.
