The co-defendant in Kosta Diamantis' bribery case reached a plea deal Wednesday.
In January, he will face a second trial for Medicaid fraud.
Former state Rep Christopher Ziogas who is accused of bribing Diamantis pled guilty to extortion, bank fraud and lying to the FBI.
According to an indictment, Ziogas and Diamantis accepted $100,000 from Helen Zervas, an eye doctor in Bristol.
In return, Diamantis allegedly pressured the state to cancel an audit into questionable Medicaid billing by Zervas.
Ziogas is expected to testify against Diamantis.
He faces up to seven years in prison.
