The Westport community gathered Saturday at Compo Beach for a dedication ceremony for its pickleball courts.
The Tom Lowrie courts were named in honor of pickleball ambassador and enthusiast Tom Lowrie.
Organizers say the 97-year-old is widely regarded as the "father of Westport pickleball."
Lowrie, a retired architect and veteran, was instrumental in bringing the courts to Compo.
The ceremony also featured an exhibition with professional and nationally ranked players along with music.
