The race for 4th Congressional District seat is intensifying during the homestretch.With days between the candidates and Election Day, Republican Congressman Chris Shays and Democratic challenger Diane Farrell can be seen across southwestern Connecticut vying for last-minute supporters. Shays was in Norwalk Monday to announce a $2 million grant for Norwalk Smiles. The organization provides dental care to HIV and AIDS patients. Norwalk is one of only 12 communities in the country to receive the grant. Norwalk Smiles says the money is a reflection of both their hard work and Congressman Shays? support. Shays has received the endorsement of the Connecticut Post.Diane Farrell received a boost from Democrats in Bridgeport Monday as supporters thanked her during the opening of Akdo's new 100,000 square-foot warehouse on State Street. Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) attended the event and spoke in support of Farrell. Farrell told News 12 Connecticut that she is anxious to connect to as many CT voters as possible in the days remaining before elections.
