Congressman Chris Shays (R-Bridgeport) spoke to a crowd of 100 at Norwalk Hospital Monday as he continues his tour helping seniors sort out Medicare options.
Experts say seniors can get confused with the multiple plans available and the varied options on each plan. Medicare expert Tom McCabe says there are 17 plans available in Connecticut, ranging from $8 to $65 a month. Shays recommends that eligible seniors pick a plan even if they do not need medication right now, since those who sign up after the deadline will have to pay a penalty.
Eligible seniors have until May 15 to select a plan. Related Links: Social Security 1-800-772-1213 Medicare1-800-633-4227
