Connecticut's capital is home to the third largest rose garden in the United States.
Elizabeth Park is located in Hartford just a quick ride from highways I-91 and I-84.
The rose garden is about two and a half acres, and there's a central square surrounded by semi circles.
One of its distinctive features is flowering arches.
Gardeners at the park say Elizabeth Park is the only park in the country that has an extensive system of trellised arbors that grow climbing roses.
The original superintendent of the park was named Theodore Wirth, and he was a Swiss-born landscape architect.
Elizabeth Park Rose garden is overseen by a nonprofit called Elizabeth Park Conservancy.
The conservancy keeps a handful of gardeners on staff, and gets help from volunteers.
Elizabeth Park is free to the public.
