Strengthening Megan's Law was the focus of a summit in Hartford Thursday.The Legislature passed several enhancements to the law during the last session. Thursday?s summit focused on explaining those enhancements and focusing on what still needs to be done. Lawmakers discussed the addition of funds to help prosecutors, parole officers and victim advocates do their jobs. They also spoke about the online sex offender registry, which offers a more detailed description of a crime and what level of risk an offender poses to the community. Most lawmakers agreed that Megan?s Law needs to be revisited and revised consistently.
