Local paranormal investigator Dan Rivera has died, New England Society for Psychic Research announced.
Rivera was a lead investigator for the society and lived in Connecticut.
Rivera was discovered in his hotel room by co-workers, according to Gettysburg police. They say nothing unusual or suspicious was observed at the scene.
Published reports say Rivera was in Pennsylvania on a tour with the allegedly haunted doll Annabelle at the time of his death.
The Annabelle doll is associated with paranormal claims and was featured in the "Conjuring" horror movies.
“The New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) is devastated by his passing and is still coming to terms with this profound loss," the organization said. "Dan was not only a vital part of our team for over a decade, but also a deeply compassionate, loyal, and dedicated friend."
