In her book, "A Connecticut Christmas," photographer Caryn Davis captures the true spirit of the holidays in the Nutmeg state. Davis joins News 12 in this week's Road Trip Close to Home at one of her favorite spots to visit.
Caryn Davis is an architectural landscape designer and interior design photographer. In "A Connecticut Christmas," the holiday is celebrated in classic New England style. The celebrations include a beautiful Neapolitan creche in Bethlehem, several lighted boat parades, lantern light tours at Mystic's seaport, a Festival of Lights in Noank and more.
There are also many historic houses and locations in Connecticut that decorate during the holidays such as the Hill Stead Museum in Farmington, the Mark Twain house in Hartford and Gillette's Castle in East Haddam.
