Connecticut State Police are grieving the loss of one of their chaplains, who died yesterday in a car crash on Route 9 in Berlin.
Police say Dr. Rev. Paul Krampitz touched the lives of hundreds of troopers, dispatchers and support staff in his 16 years of service.
He was assigned to Troop L in Litchfield, Troop H in Hartford, and the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection in Middletown.
They say he was a pillar to the agency following the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
Authorities say the investigation into the crash is ongoing and that the driver of the other car is cooperating.
