Connecticut Sun to play next season at Mohegan Sun amid uncertain future

While the future of the Connecticut Sun remains uncertain, Mohegan Sun leadership said Thursday the team plans to play in the state for next season.

"As Mohegan leadership continues to evaluate all strategic opportunities, the Connecticut Sun plan to play at Mohegan Sun Arena for the 2026 WNBA season," said Mohegan leadership.

In May, Connecticut's only professional sports team hired an investment bank to explore a potential sale, which could lead to relocation.

At the time, state lawmakers said if the team moved from Uncasville, it could play at the XL Center in Hartford.
