Connecticut swimmers braved the waters of the Long Island Sound Saturday to raise money for cancer patients and their families.
Members of the Westport Swim Club crossed the finish line in the 19th annual Swim Across the Sound in Bridgeport. About 200 swimmers participated in the event. They swam 15 miles from Port Jefferson, New York to Captain?s Cove in Bridgeport.
The swimmers raised $250,000. All of the money will benefit cancer patients at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.
