Saturday is a day that fishermen all across Connecticut have been waiting for: the beginning of the 150th official fishing season.
News 12 was at Jimmy O's Bait and Tackle Shop in Black Rock where fishermen have been in and out all day stocking up on supplies to get ready for the start of the season.
Many people say that this is a huge tradition for both their friends and family and they cannot wait to hit the local rivers, streams, lakes and ponds.
However, if people do go out and fish before the season officially begins, they will be subject to a fine of $77.
