It's a great chance to save on your back to school shopping.
Sales Tax Free Week started Sunday and runs through Saturday.
Sales or purchases of certain items of clothing or footwear costing less than $100 per item are exempt from sales tax.
With Connecticut sales tax being 6.35% you'll save $6.35 for every $100 you spend.
Shoppers already hit the stores Sunday to take advantage.
Annette Norton is the owner of Saavy and Grace in Westport.
She says her store sees a 20% increase in business during sales tax free week.
"To shop local, if you want to be able to do that, it's more than just getting your product, it's an experience. It's trying things on, it's getting service, it's people recognizing you and being so appreciative that you're there. I think it's the whole package," said Norton.
Sales Tax free week also applies to online purchases as long as they are made during this designated week.
