Cooling centers open across Connecticut with near-record temps expected

Cooling centers across Connecticut are opening today as the state braces for a summer scorcher with near-record temperatures.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Connecticut starting Thursday at 11 a.m. and ending Friday at 9 p.m.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Jonathan Cubit says there will be near-record high temperatures through the end of the week. Watch his full forecast below:
Health experts say stay in air-conditioned buildings, avoid direct sunlight, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, take cool showers or baths, and check on those who are most at-risk.
