? Employees at a post office in Cos Cob and veterans officials are trying to find the owner, or owners, of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star that were dropped in a mailbox.
A postal employee found the medals while collecting the mail last week. Employees say it appears the prized medals did not fall out of any envelopes or packages. Several veterans have looked at the Purple Hearts and Bronze Star and believe they are real. The medals do not have any names on them.
Purple Hearts are awarded to military members who are wounded in battle and Bronze Stars are awarded for heroic acts. The medals can also be given posthumously.
