Joann, the fabrics and crafts retailer, says it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The retail chain has more than 800 stores nationwide, including 10 in Connecticut.

The company says it will continue to operate its stores and website while it navigates the bankruptcy process.
