Officials are thanking residents on Lloyd Avenue for helping firefighters take out a fire in New Fairfield Saturday.
The home was engulfed in flames and firefighters had a difficult time extinguishing it because of all the trees that were down.
The homeowner, Greg Flower, has been an EMT in Danbury for almost 10 years.
Flower's colleagues have also set up a GoFundMe account for him.
